Home school athletics on the rise

CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - Home school athletics are becoming a more popular choice, and here in Arkansas, a new law is making it even more appealing.

Senate Bill 331 became a law in March of 2015. It allows home school teams to compete with public school teams in major sports like basketball. At the McGee Center in Conway, you can sometimes find those home school teams facing each other out on the court.

One of those players on the Falcon home school basketball team is Aaron Griffin. He’s a senior and is dedicated to playing basketball.

"We are all like one big family on the home school teams, we are all great people. We get competitive, but at the end, we are all friends. So it's kind of like your own little world,” he said.
