Crisis communication talk set for UCA Downtown

CONWAY, Ark. — Dr. JJ McIntyre, associate professor in the University of Central Arkansas Department of Communication, will deliver a presentation titled Crisis Communication in the New Normal on Wednesday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. at UCA Downtown.

McIntyre is an internationally published author who has worked on a number of grants with agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the USDA. He is also an active crisis communication consultant for businesses and state agencies.

“In today's world, businesses and other types of organizations cannot afford to ignore crisis planning or hope to recover from a crisis without a strong communication response,” McIntyre said. “My presentation will be an introduction to crisis communication with emphases in the nature of crises and dispelling some commonly held myths about crisis communication. This discussion should be valuable to local businesses and other community organizations.”

The presentation, set to run for an hour, is free and open to the public.
