A strong cold front has brought winter back to Arkansas. Windy and colder conditions are expected state-wide with clouds breaking up throughout the day. Sunny and warmer conditions are in store for Friday. 

Thursday: Clearing, windy and cold. High near 40. Northwest winds 15-25 mph.

Weekend forecast

Sunshine continues through the weekend with slightly cooler temperatures. High pressure dominates before moisture moves in Monday night.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and colder. High 45. Wind NE at 5-10mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear and cold. Low 27.

Sunday: Mosly sunny and a few degrees warmer. High 48.

High pressure is keeping skies clear. Temperatures will fall below freezing overnight. Sunshine should continue into the weekend with slightly cooler temperatures Saturday.

Monday forecast

Rain will continue across the region for a good part of the day today with a transition to sleet/snow mix in northwest Arkansas. Wouldn't be surprised to see some accumulation in higher elevations of the north central and northwestern areas of the state.  Otherwise a cold, rainy Monday for the rest of us.

Monday: 90% Rain through early afternoon, then a chance of rain through the evening hours. High 45. Wind N 10-15.
