Ross to lead Conway Chamber energy discussion, proposed tax increase

WHO:     U.S. Congressman Mike Ross; Faulkner County Judge Preston Scroggin, Conway Mayor Tab Townsell, Conway Area Chamber of Commerce leadership, El Dorado Chamber of Commerce leadership, local elected officials and business leaders.

WHAT:   U.S. Congressman Mike Ross, member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Natural Gas Caucus, will lead a roundtable discussion on energy policy, including the proposed natural gas severance tax increase.

The city of Conway will consider a resolution opposing an increase on the Arkansas severance tax at the Tuesday, April 23rd meeting.  Mayor Townsell and/or city council members will be on hand to talk about the resolution.

Chamber and business leadership will talk about the current economic impact of energy exploration in Faulkner County and Arkansas.
