Solicits feedback, says no fundraising during session

CONWAY, Ark. – State Representative Linda Tyler of Conway, a candidate for the State Senate, today announced an effort to keep voters informed as the Arkansas General Assembly’s second-ever fiscal session gets underway.  In a web video, Tyler asks residents to contact her with questions about the upcoming session, which will be devoted to budget issues.

“I invite you to reach out to me at www.lindatylerforsenate.com, where you can email me a question or comment and find my phone number,” Tyler said.  “As always, I’ll be working hard to make sure your voice is heard every step of the way.”

“Now, more than ever, we need strong leadership at our State Capitol,” Tyler continued.  “We need someone who will put the needs of our people ahead of the wants of some political party.”

Tyler also said she will not solicit or accept contributions for her State Senate campaign during the legislative session that begins February 13.

“The session is about doing our job as legislators, not about campaigning or scoring political points,” said Tyler.  “During the session, I will be solely focused on the needs of Faulkner and Perry counties and on meeting our obligation of balancing the state’s budget.  Just as you’ve worked hard to keep your family’s pocketbook on track during these tough times, I’ll be working to ensure the essential state programs and services you count on continue to be adequately funded, while keeping a close eye on how your hard-earned tax dollars are spent.”
