'Heroes for Hope' 5K in Conway

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – We inducted new heroes to our THV Hero Central Wednesday morning.

The Children's Advocacy Alliance of Conway helps children before and during adoption through the services it provides to them, as well as through the assistance it provides to the Division of Children and Family Services and court system. The alliance is a joint venture with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) to work together to advocate in the child's best interest during this whole process, through the initial investigation, court case, services and DHS case.

The alliance is holding its annual Heroes for Hope 5K & 10K and kid's Superhero 1K on Saturday, April 19. It is one of the important fundraisers our nonprofit agency uses to raise the money needed to keep our doors open to provide the many services to abused children in central Arkansas.

Tess Fletcher, alliance executive director said, "This is a fun way for families to be active, and during Child Abuse Awareness Month help a community nonprofit agency provide services to abused children."

The USATF chip-times certified race will be at Simon Park in downtown Conway at the Chris Allen Stage.

Check in and registration is at 8 a.m., the 5K/10K starts at 9 a.m., the Superhero 1K starts at 10:30 a.m., and awards will be given out at 11:30 a.m.

After the race from noon to 2 p.m. there will be music and activities.
