Mothers of young children finding support

CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Moms of preschoolers have numerous hurdles to overcome but there is an organization where they can find friendship, resources and support from other mothers.

It's known as 'MOPS', an acronym for mother's of preschoolers and this year marks the 20th anniversary for the organization based in Conway.

Conway MOPS is an inter-denominational Christian Ministry whose purpose is to
reach every mother of preschoolers with the Gospel of Jesus

THV 11's Melissa Dunbar-Gates spoke to Abbie Keller, new assistant coordinator for Conway MOPS and Jeanne Lehmkuhl, the new coordinator, on 'THV 11 This Morning Saturday.'

"I've seen moms be able to come out their shell and get comfortable with everybody there which frees us up to talk about the things that are exciting in our lives with out kids and then talk about some of the stuff we're struggling with," says Keller.

MOPS is for every mom who has children ages birth to 5 years or kindergarten. MOPS Meetings consists of crafts, community speakers, devotional
speakers, discussion group time with other moms, and delicious food two
mornings per month! The registration fee is $55 for the entire year and this includes all benefits listed above and all childcare for the year.

MOPS is always looking for Christian women interested in becoming a MOPPETS Teacher, Community Speaker, and/or Christian Mentor. For more information on any of these positions, visit ConwayMOPS.org.
