UCA, Conway Regional forge partnership

CONWAY, Ark. - The University of Central Arkansas and Conway Regional Health System are working together to advance healthcare in the region by establishing a healthcare education center.

The UCA Board of Trustees passed a resolution Friday to use property at Western Avenue and College for the construction of The Center for Collaborative Healthcare Education. The building will be shared by the university and Conway Regional Health System to address healthcare education needs of the hospital staff, academic programs at UCA and the citizens of Conway and the region. Conway Regional Board of Directors supports the proposed project and will fund a detailed schematic of the building.
The center will house state-of-the-art healthcare simulation labs, classrooms, offices, and an auditorium for use by students, staff, and the community.

Nurses' Association hosts "Out of the Darkness" walk

CONWAY, Ark. – The  UCA Student Nurses’ Association is hosting an “Out of the Darkness Campus Walk” for Suicide prevention on March 12, 2011 from 10 am to 2 pm. Participants can register for free online, or at 8:30 a.m. the day of the walk.

It will be at the UCA Centennial 5 K Race Course. Food and drink will be provided.

We are hosting this event in honor of our fellow nursing student, Kyle Meacham. Our goal is to help facilitate UCA counseling center’s interactive screening process, which was designed by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to help reach out to students in distress.

We are the very first school to do this event in Arkansas. For more information, click below.
