CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - Two Conway Schools have been recognized for excellence in Science this year.

Each year, the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas creates a report highlighting the highest-performing schools in Arkansas. These schools are given Outstanding Educational Performance Awards.

Although the PARCC results have not yet been released, we are happy to announce these OEP Science awards based on Benchmark and End-of-Course science exams.

Conway Junior High School earned the “High-Achieving School” OEP award for performance on the End-of-Course Biology exam. Carl Stuart Middle School was awarded a "High Achieving School" OEP award for performance on the 7th Grade Benchmark Science exam.

"Our District continues to excel academically," says Superintendent Dr. Greg Murry, "This is yet another example of how our teachers are working daily to teach our students in a significant and meaningful way."

These awards are based on the OEP-created “school GPA,” calculated on the basis of the percentage of students that perform at a particular level on the Benchmark or End-of-Course exam.
