IMPACT announces next community meeting

BATESVILLE, Ark. - The IMPACT Independence County Planning Committee has announced that the next community meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10 from 6-7 p.m. in Independence Hall on the UACCB campus.

The final results of the IMPACT survey will be revealed at the community meeting, and the planning committee will give information to those interested in serving on an IMPACT Independence County committee. Chairs and co-chairs for each committee will be nominated, and dates for future committee meetings will be determined.

The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) Center for Community and Economic Development will provide a training on Thursday, Sept. 17 at UACCB in Room 104 at 6 p.m. for the selected chair and co-chairs for each IMPACT committee.

The Center’s director, Amy Whitehead, said of the training, “UCA's Center for Community and Economic Development is pleased to provide technical assistance to the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce as it continues its community-based planning process. Independence County has many unique assets, and we believe this planning process will help leverage those assets and bring together key stakeholders to achieve its economic development goals.”

If you wish to participate in an IMPACT committee but cannot attend the meeting on Sept. 10, please contact the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce at (870) 793-2378 or email info@impactindependencecounty.com by no later than Wednesday, Sept. 16.
