“Peace, Love, and Refugee” devised puppet slam by UCA students
CONWAY, Ark. — Alpha Psi Omega, University of Central Arkansas’s honorary theatre society, will host a devised theatre puppet slam titled “Peace, Love, and Refugee” on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m. at UCA Downtown, 1105 West Oak Street in Conway.
“Peace, Love, and Refugee” will consist of short collaborative theatre performances. These productions will be written by UCA students and focus on their interpretations of the word, ‘refugee.’
There is a $5 admission with proceeds going to El Zocalo Immigrant Resource Center in Little Rock.
“Devised theatre is when collaborative ideas are combined with improvisational methods and movement techniques in order to create a thought-provoking performance,” said Jordyn Daniels, UCA senior and president of UCA’s Alpha Psi Omega Chapter.
