LITTLE ROCK, Ark.  Beginning February 14, the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will enforce new weight limits on several State Highways in the Fayetteville shale areas, according to AHTD officials. Arkansas Highway Police will strictly enforce the newly posted limits that have been established because of significant damage to the roadways from existing traffic.

The new restrictions are located on a total of 133 miles on 13 sections of highways in Cleburne, Conway, Faulkner, Independence, Van Buren and White Counties. Eight of those sections will drop from 80,000 pound limits to 73,280. The others will drop to 64,000 pounds.

Highway 31     Hwy 267 to Hwy 5 in White County

Highway 36     Hwy 385 to Hwy 323 in White County

Highway 92     Hwy 16 to Highway 25 in Cleburne County

Highway 157   Hwy 258 to Hwy 87 in White and Independence Counties

Highway 92     Hwy 9 to Hwy 285 in Conway & Van Buren Counties

Highway 92     Hwy 285 to Hwy 65 in Van Buren County

Highway 92     Hwy 65 to Hwy 16 in Van Buren and Cleburne Counties

Highway 356   Hwy 92 to Hwy 225 in Van Buren and Cleburne Counties
